When we moved in some of the carpet was less than pretty. I have endured it for almost 2 years. To make matters worse, there was no way we could use the dining area as a dining area, its tiny!! So we put our table where the family room was designated and have been using the dining area for our desk and vinyl machine workstation. 5 kids and a dining area that was carpeted are not a good mix. I have been begging Matt to put down some cheap Pergo flooring so that when the next people move in they can have a wood floor dining area or a wood floor family room. FINALLY, on New Years day I convinced him we should do it that day! He was up for it so we went to Lowe's and started the tear out around 6 pm. Bronson was super excited to be on his first job and did well with the broom.
Matt had such dedicated "helpers". Both Ryker and Bronson wanted to help with this board.
Where do I put this one dad?
It helps to look so cute on the job. It gets you breaks with mom!! Bronson also learned that the new floor is a little more slippery than the old one!

We realized it was 11:11 p.m on 1/1/2011. We finished about twenty minutes later. What can I say, with a last name of Van Komen, you have to be a night owl!

I am soooooooo glad we don't have disgusting carpet (in that room at least).

First of all, can I just express my total jealousy that you have a husband that can FINISH a project like that in that amount of time!!! Amazing! ...Even with all of the awesome, and totally adorable, help! :)
Second, that Bronson kid is SO STINKING CUTE! I L-O-V-E his hair! It makes me giggle everytime I see it! :)
